The mission of the new Learning & Development division at safe.brussels is to promote access to the crucial security, prevention and emergency service professions, by ensuring comprehensive, targeted preparation for current and future professionals.
We are committed to developing the knowledge, skills and attitudes needed to support these professions, both in their internal interactions and with the public.
Our team of multidisciplinary experts uses its expertise to provide innovative, hybrid training.
We offer a programme aligned with the needs of our partners, the approach taken by the Brussels-Capital Region, and the objectives of safe.brussels.
In addition to the training content, we provide modern, adaptable and secure infrastructures, offering an optimal learning environment.
Together, by listening and working with our partners, we create cross-disciplinary training courses, promoting a comprehensive approach to security, prevention and emergency services, as part of the risk cycle to better anticipate, prevent, manage and respond to crisis situations.
RTP (legal framework)
In September 2018, the Brussels Government approved a Regional Training Plan for the security and prevention sector, which aims to develop the multidisciplinary approach and meet the specific needs of our region. For example, it offers new multidisciplinary training courses for professionals.
Through its Learning & Development division, safe.brussels coordinates the drafting and implementation of the Regional Training Plan (RTP), defining and evaluating the training programmes and courses.
This regional training plan has several objectives:
- Training players in the specific characteristics of the Brussels
- Capital Region (urban and multicultural context)
- Developing an integrated, multidisciplinary approach to practice.
To achieve these goals, the use of new learning techniques is strongly encouraged (simulators, active learning rooms, immersive environments, etc.). The aim of the RTP is to coordinate the various responses provided by training operators and to offer training that best meets the needs of the Brussels authorities and the Security, Prevention and Emergency Service (SPES) sector. On a mono- or multidisciplinary level, the four schools for the security, prevention and emergency service professions are responsible for training schemes that meet the demands of these sectors of activity. They are supported by safe.brussels, particularly through the provision of shared, multidisciplinary infrastructures.
