Basic manager training is the vocational training (lasting 12 months) that the aspiring inspector (the student who begins training) undergoes and must pass in order to get their first job as an inspector.

Block 1:
- Cluster 1: Police services in relation to administrative and judicial organisations (40 hours of study*);
- Cluster 2: Law on Police functions (40 hours of study);
- Cluster 3: Police ethics (24 hours of study);
- Cluster 4: Introduction to Law (60 hours of study);
- Cluster 5: Highway code (30 hours of study).
- Cluster 6: Specific areas of law (120 hours of study);
- Cluster 7: Information management (122 hours of study);
- Cluster 8: Police reception and assistance (78 hours of study);
- Cluster 9: Police intervention (176 hours of study);
- Cluster 10: Investigations (100 hours of study);
- Cluster 11: Traffic (114 hours of study).
- Cluster 12: Societal context (32 hours of study);
- Cluster 13: Communication (100 [EO1] hours of study);
- Cluster 14: Sport (90 hours of study);
- Cluster 15: Managing violence and stress (188 hours of study).
Block 2:
Cross-cutting clusters across blocks 1 and 2:
(*) Total number of hours spent on a cluster. These hours include both contact hours, hours spent preparing for and carrying out tasks, and time granted by the police academy to study a cluster.
This amounts to total of 1,314 hours of study and 328 hours of work-study placements.
