Belgium National Holiday: join us in the Safety Village
08.07.2024As every year, our team will be at the Safety Village at the Grand Sablon in Brussels.
When and where to find us:
You'll find us from 10am to 8pm on the safe.brussels stand on Rue de la Régence at the intersection with Place du Sablon. Come and visit us!
What's on the programme?
Since 2016, safe.brussels has purchased several drones for use by local and federal police forces. On our stand, you can try your hand at flying one with a virtual reality simulation game. You'll also be able to see demonstrations of tethered drones, along with the famous drone dogs. And, of course, don't miss our traditional quiz to try and win some goodies!
Practical information:
The festivities will take place from 10am to 8pm in various locations around Brussels, including Parc de Bruxelles, Place des Palais, Place Royale and many other venues. For your convenience, we recommend you come by train or metro. Park and ride facilities will be available at Kraainem, Heysel, Delta and Roodebeek.
Full programme:
- 10am - 8pm Festival in the Park
- 11am Official opening in Place Royale
- 4pm Military and civilian parade
- 9pm Concert and fireworks at the Cinquantenaire
This year's military parade will highlight several important themes. On the theme of "Transformation of Defence", the parade will showcase the innovation of the Belgian armed forces in the face of new challenges. This year also marks 75 years of NATO, an essential pillar of international stability, as well as 25 years of partnership with Benin.

Activation of the Regional Crisis Centre:
The Regional Crisis Centre will be activated to ensure everyone's safety during the festivities on 21 July.
