Coronavirus (COVID-19): Order on prohibition measures in the Brussels-Capital Region
11.03.2020Brussels, 11 March 2020
Following the recommendations of the National Security Council regarding the situation with the coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak, in the context of my competence to coordinate the prevention and security policy I have decided to implement three important measures on the territory of the Brussels-Capital Region by means of an order.
It is forbidden on the territory of the Brussels-Capital Region to:
- hold any event or gathering of over 1,000 people in an indoor area that is accessible to the public;
- make visits to persons in retirement and care institutions (except for specific situations);
- allow school trips to take place abroad by all schools established on the region’s territory.
This order is immediately applicable in the Brussels-Capital Region up to and including 31 March and is supplemented by a specific circular that prohibits visits to people in retirement homes. The measure will be reassessed in the light of changes in the situation.
