New report on existing initiatives in the Brussels-Capital Region to improve relations between citizens and law enforcement agencies

19.08.2024

On 18 December 2020, the Parliament of the Brussels-Capital Region approved a resolution aimed at improving relations between citizens and law enforcement agencies, and vice-versa.

This resolution includes recommendations for the Region. Relations between citizens and law enforcement agencies have always been a priority for safe.brussels and its partners. Several initiatives at regional, zonal or local level contribute directly to improving relations between citizens and the police, and thus to meeting the concerns and expectations expressed by the MPs in this resolution.

This report is a communication tool, used to explain these initiatives to the authorities and the general public. It covers activities led in response to the resolution over the period from September 2021 to June 2022, i.e. one academic year. This document was written in collaboration with the members of the Citizen-Police Working Group (GT CiPol/WG BuPol) created in September 2021.
